LICE! If my daughter brings home just one more note from the

CDC I will freak! Since winter break we have been receiving these notes home explaining what Pediculus humanus capitis -AKA- headlice is and how to get rid of them. The teachers have called all the parents asking to put the girls hair in braids or buns. That’s a great first step but it leaves many still exposed from those itchy jumpy insects.

I have sent my daughter to school in these awesome kids pre-tieds

. She feels totally hip and I feel totally safe. Just typing this article has me itching! I am so glad I don’t have to deal with the real deal:)

Ladies keep in mind the article we posted in the summer about lice in head coverings.

Fashion week 2012 is upon us here in New York City. The fashionistas worldwide haveThe vedict is in! TANGERINE is the color of the season! Our tangerine tango has already been flying off the shelf (see image and link below).

So your standing there, dripping wet out just of the shower. Your hair is soaking through your pre-tied bandana which you threw on because company in the house. Your bath robe has a huge wet spot on your back from all the dripping.

There has got to be a better way. Hey wait - there is! Invest in a terry pretied

You will thank me later.

WHAT THE HECK IS AN ANGLE SWEATER?!

 

 

Well who wears pullover sweaters?  It seems to me that the feminine world of fashion wears sweaters without zippers, buttons or snaps. I find that when I'm getting dressed up, to go out - I apply my make-up first, while wearing a pretied bandanna.  Then when I'm all dolled up and ready to leave, I can easily put on my ANGLE SWEATER.  The angle seater goes over my pretied bandana or any head covering (Sombrero excluded!). I can pop on my funky hat or wig ( with a slip not - wig grip underneath of course;) as a head covering and I am good to go.

 

Below is an Angle sweater that has a bit of a cowl neck for easy on and off. This knit sweater is sometimes called a PONCHO. It is warm, cozy and dressy too. I love how the sweater just drapes beautifully on a dramatic angle with a point worn in the front.  My favorite is the most practical color- LOL yes, BLACK. The most forgiving color in a girls closet.

SLIP BANDS - WOW! What loaded words . At MillineryShop.net we have sold over 200 slip bands in two days with one of these daily Groupon style deals. We have had so many questions comparing one slip band verses the cotton version of the slip band - it's not that one band style is better then the other!!!! 
 
It is different based on ones needs. For some women who are sensitive to different fabrics and they can only tolerate cotton on their skin, or perhaps a women who lives is California and its quite hot in climate- they would appreciate a cooler version made with a cotton side to be worn on their heads. The  summer version of the slip not is then a cooler version - simply because it's only 1/2 velvet as apposed to a two sided velvet band.

This is not a fluff piece like many of my recent posts.
 
This is a public service announcement. Buyer Beware.
 
When you purchase a pre-tied bandana, hat or snood from the traveling sales people that go from colony to colony, consider where that piece has been before you try it on your head.
  • Dozens of hot sweaty women have tried and discarded it.
  • Bungalows and lice outbreaks?!
