For our second run of manufacturing face masks we learned that people with glasses are having a hard time with wearing masks. Their glasses are being steamed up. Breathing air in the mask created the lens to became foggy. We took that issue into considerations and now cut the masks a little larger so that the glasses can sit on the fabric. That seems to be helping. Who would of thought....

While some people sleep at night, my mind runs full speed. Dreaming up new fun ways to wear head coverings. My newest thought was HEY why can't the customer order her choice scarf, tichel, kerchief in a few ways. The options are all up to you. You create your head scarf and we will prepare it in any of the 3 options offered. As of now we have several scarfs prepared in the 3 way option. If you see a scarf not yet offered in the 3 way option message us and we will see if we can prepare it in the style of your choice.

O.K. I will start explaining what the 3 ways options are:

#1 The newest option of all is that you can order your scarf as an open triangle and we can built into the front edge our famous STRIPE GRIP. ( The little piece of velvet built in will keep the scarf from slipping around.) Ladies are asking for self tying scarves. So now we can offer it to you:>

#2 Order your scarf PRE TIED.  Easy to just slide on. No need for folding, centering, playing around with the scarf. Just slide on your PRE TIED. We do the work for you. Yes, you have the option to add a STRIP GRIP onto your pre tied.

#3 The last idea we offer to you is the original square. Ordering the original square let's you have more versatile ways to use / wear the scarf. This cotton HEAD LINER is so comfortable, I'm thrilled to introduce this item to you. Its actually two items built into one making this HEAD LINER a clever head piece. The edge of the head liner is connected with  our best seller the Slip-Not Head grip. (In case ytou forgot what ourstrip grip is - you can read about it here It's a  double sided crushed velvet band  that will stick like glue to you, yet extremely comfortable to wear. I recently went shopping for new fabric. It was time to add some new prints to the site. I just love picking and choosing fabric. A lot of planning goes into which fabric to get. Print, color, texture, quality, washing care, etc.

I found a fantastic cotton print available in two colors pink and grey.

It is cotton which is great by itself but also because it has a shiny sheen (non-slip) with the in style look of slub woven into the thread weave of the fabric. It has a linen appearance- knobbly effect.

Home made bagels - so easy - so good.

1 1/4 cups water

4 1/2 cups bread flour

3 tablespoons white sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons vegetable oil 

1 tablespoon instant yeast

4 quarts water

1 cup honey (optional)

Directions

Combine 1 1/4 cup water, flour, sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, vegetable oil, and yeast in the mixing bowl of a stand mixer. 

Mix on low speed using the dough hook until well-developed, about 8 minutes. To ensure the gluten has developed fully, cut off a walnut-sized piece of dough. Flour your fingers, and then stretch the dough: if it tears immediately, the dough needs more kneading. Fully developed dough should form a thin translucent "windowpane."

Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel, and let rise for 2 hours.

Punch the dough down, place it on a lightly floured work surface, and use a knife or dough scraper to divide the dough into 6 pieces (or more, for smaller bagels). Roll each piece of dough into a sausage shape about 6 inches long. Join the ends to form a circle. Repeat with the remaining dough, and let the bagels rest for 15 minutes.

Preheat oven to 475 degrees F (245 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange small plates with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and onion flakes next to the baking sheet.

Bring 4 quarts water to a boil in a large pot. Add honey, if desired (see Editor's Note). Boil the bagels, three at a time, until they rise to the surface of the pot, about 1 minute per side. Remove the bagels with a slotted spoon and place them on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Dip the tops of the wet bagels into the toppings and arrange them, seeds up, on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with coarse salt, if desired. Bake in the preheated oven until the bagels begin to brown, 15 to 20 minutes.

Adding honey or barley malt syrup to the boiling water bath gives the bagels a pleasing chewy texture with a hint of sweetness. You may omit the honey, if desired. The nutrition data for this recipe includes the full amount of the honey. The actual amount of the honey consumed will vary.

Ingrediants: 

1 egg, beaten

1 container  (15 oz.)  Ricotta Cheese

2 cups Shreded Cheese Blend

1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning

1 jar  (26 oz.) spaghetti sauce, divided

16 lasagna noodles, cooked

1/4 cup  Grated Parmesan Cheese

HEAT oven to 375ºF.

MIX first 5 ingredients until well blended.

SPREAD 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish. Spread each noodle with 3 Tbsp. cheese mixture; roll up. Place, seam-sides down, in dish. Top with remaining sauce and Parmesan; cover.

BAKE 40 to 50 min. or until heated through, uncovering the last 10 min.

I recently saw the cutest boys shul play set. Complete with tallis and tefillin. Well who wears pullover sweaters?  It seems to me that the feminine world of fashion wears sweaters without zippers, buttons or snaps. I find that when I'm getting dressed up, to go out - I apply my make-up first, while wearing a pretied bandanna.  Then when I'm all dolled up and ready to leave, I can easily put on my ANGLE SWEATER.  The angle seater goes over my pretied bandana or any head covering (Sombrero excluded!). I can pop on my funky hat or wig (with a slip not - wig grip underneath of course) as a head covering and I am good to go.

Below is an Angle sweater that has a bit of a cowl neck for easy on and off. This knit sweater is sometimes called a PONCHO. It is warm, cozy and dressy too. I love how the sweater just drapes beautifully on a dramatic angle with a point worn in the front.  My favorite is the most practical color- LOL yes, BLACK. The most forgiving color in a girls closet.

About three feet away from me stood another religious lady at the beach in – I kid you not – a Shaitel. Yes! She apparently put on her fine, custom, $3,500 + wig to go to the beach?! Oxidize much?!

“You have got to be kidding me!” was my first reaction.

Then my not highly conditioned enough reflex of “different strokes for different folks” kicked in. I glanced again at the lady, pulled the two ends of my kerchief out of habit, glanced at the wig wearing lady again, and then stared out to sea, deliberately keeping my “new friend” and her Shaitel out of sight…. trying to behave…

Someone tapped me and I jumped! “Sorry!” I heard a timid voice break through my grumping. “I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to know where you got that pre-tied. Sorry!”

I lifted me kerchief-clad head and stared at – you guessed it – my wig clad “neighbor,” I restructured my grimace into a lopsided grin, clumsily got to my feet and stuttered, “Ooohhh! T- Th- That's okay! It-it-it's no pro-prob-problem. Reeeaally!

I quickly studied her appearance and came to three conclusions: She cared how she dressed, she knew how to dress, and she always looked great – from the sole of her shoe to the top of her hat – well shaitel!

Now imagine exercising in an Guccil designer's suit. Uh uh! You gotta be nuts! No pain no gain – if you don't sweat the exercise, it's not worth a whole lot and an Anne Klien suit is the wrong costume.

How do you cover your hair?

Beach in a shaitel? I dont think so – at least not me! Ever lose your wig – or almost in hershey park. Been there. Done that. Not fun. so here are my top recomendations, feel free to chime in and give me yours:)

This is a great one with my tan clothing, dress it up dress it down it's all good.

Some stores have purchased this merchandise looking to gain a larger margin of profit (at your expense) others are offering it at steeply discounted prices. It may seem appealing to pay almost half the price you would normally pay. Buyer beware! This product will not hold up to normal wear and tear. It is not cut for optimal comfort and endurance.
