To all our new and devoted customers- I would like to go over and  explain some of our products in the section called "hats and head coverings"   We will be understanding what the differences is -between the Tichel kerchief and Oversized pretieds. These two categories can be found in the shop by department - hats and head coverings  Tichel - Kerchief   What is a Tichel? Sometimes called a Kerchief as well.    A Tichel is a square scarf that  we  fold and make into a head scaf. I would say that your Bubby -most likely wore this style head covering in Europe, in the Shtetl. All married Jewish ladies covered their hair out of modesty and a sign that she is married. Fabric and texture have come a long way  in the Tichel world. We no longer tie the kerchief under our chin in the front. The Tichel is pretied with our soft elastic in the back. We offer sizes on the elastic so there is no need to tie. Another novelty is the Strip grip that is built into the front inner side to help keep your head wear from sliding around   Oversized pretieds   Now lets talk about the Oversized pretieds. This section  is different because its not a square scarf that we work with. We buy fabric on a roll and we cut the fabric into  headwear. The end results is pretty similar to the Tichel kerchief.  This too has a built in elastic for a pretied look. Some woman like the fabric feel and texture  better then a Tichel or vis versa. The strip grip  in also built into the Oversized pretieds     Both itmes - Tichel kerchief and the oversized pretied have options to build in a strip grip -This edge inner keeps your headwear from slipping and sliding.   What is a Strip Grip? A strip grip is a 3/4”-1"  piece of velvet that is sewn into the band of head covering of your choice. It is designed to eliminate the slipping and sliding that usually occurs. That’s why we call it the SLIP GRIP! It is smooth, comfortable and not sweaty. Now that it's finally summer, I took a quick jaunt to the beach with my three kids. I had just finished readjusting my pretied bandana and was helping my three-year-old dig up her small neon-green Croc from the sand when I almost FLIPPED OUT!   About three feet away from me stood another religious lady at the beach in – I kid you not – a Shaitel. Yes! She apparently put on her fine, custom, $3,500 + wig to go to the beach?! Oxidize much?!   “You have got to be kidding me!” was my first reaction.   Then my not highly conditioned enough reflex of “different strokes for different folks” kicked in. I glanced again at the lady, pulled the two ends of my kerchief out of habit, glanced at the wig wearing lady again, and then stared out to sea, deliberately keeping my “new friend” and her Shaitel out of sight…. trying to behave…   Someone tapped me and I jumped! “Sorry!” I heard a timid voice break through my grumping. “I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to know where you got that pre-tied. Sorry!”   I lifted me kerchief-clad head and stared at – you guessed it – my wig clad “neighbor,” I restructured my grimace into a lopsided grin, clumsily got to my feet and stuttered, “Ooohhh! T- Th- That's okay! It-it-it's no pro-prob-problem. Reeeaally!   I quickly studied her appearance and came to three conclusions: She cared how she dressed, she knew how to dress, and she always looked great – from the sole of her shoe to the top of her hat – well shaitel!   “So, anyway, where did you get that pre-tied?” she prompted.   “I go to www.MillineryShop.net. See, I would never even think of going to the beach in a Shaitel, even if it was a cheaper one. It would get completely killed, besides that it's so uncomfortable… and.. oh! Yeah! This Millinery Shop is really great they like sell everything you need in the way of head-coverings, like everything. They've even got Shawls and Costume Jewlery. They have pre-tieds, bandannas, hair clips, kerchiefs, snoods, tichels… um mitpachot turbans and even hair clips and jelly bands… I mean they have everything! Um..” I was babbling and I knew it.    “They've go it all. Seriously! Check them out… they have something for every taste and need. They're even well-priced.”   “What's the name of the place again?” she asked. And I proceeded to give her the information. We talked for a few minutes more and then she turned and walked away, her wig winking in the sunlight. It's funny! Now it looked a drop more blondish, before I had been positive it was brown. “I guess my imaginations running wild again,” I mused as I reached up to pull the two ends of my pretied again… out of habit.  

Well let me tell you a well kept secret... MANY ladies in the United States, wear wigs.    For many reasons ladies wear wigs.....  It can be for a bad hair day, color swap, balding, health, religion you name it. The best kept secret is what helps one to wear a wig comfortably. How does one keep a wig in place? Well, we can help fill in the blanks.    Our item called the WIG GRIP have really caught on. MANY ladies have bought the wig grips and around 6 months later I see that they will purchase another. I definitely see proof that by wearing the wig grip, their wigs really stay in place snugly. Another secret we are sharing with you.   Our HEAD LINER Cap is special because ...... Its a wig grip built onto a cotton cap with an adjustable velcro. If you can't stand the feel of the wig directly on you head BINGO .. you will like this. It will fit most heads and you also have a few colors to choose from.   The HEAD LINER CAP: How to wear the head liner.... IF you have long hair then put your hair in a pony holder. Open the velcro in the back and slid the head liner cap onto your head. The wig grip band should be placed on your hair line. Close the velcro ends to your comfort. The HEAD LINER cap will stay in place all day. Some ladies have told us that they will sleep in it as well. The top of the cap is a soft comfortable cotton fabric.
