I have to share my excitement with you,my  friends on Millineryshop.net  frum diva blog.   I recently went shopping for new fabric. It was time to add some new prints to the site. I just love picking and choosing fabric. A lot of planning goes into which fabric to get. Print, color, texture, quality, washing care, etc.   I found a fantastic cotton print available in two colors pink and grey.   It is cotton which is great by itself but also because it has a shiny sheen (non-slip) with the in style look of slub woven into the thread weave of the fabric.   Home made bagels - so easy - so good.       1 1/4 cups water 4 1/2 cups bread flour 3 tablespoons white sugar 1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons vegetable oil  1 tablespoon instant yeast 4 quarts water 1 cup honey (optional) Directions Combine 1 1/4 cup water, flour, sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, vegetable oil, and yeast in the mixing bowl of a stand mixer.  Mix on low speed using the dough hook until well-developed, about 8 minutes. To ensure the gluten has developed fully, cut off a walnut-sized piece of dough. Flour your fingers, and then stretch the dough: if it tears immediately, the dough needs more kneading. Fully developed dough should form a thin translucent "windowpane." Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel, and let rise for 2 hours. Punch the dough down, place it on a lightly floured work surface, and use a knife or dough scraper to divide the dough into 6 pieces (or more, for smaller bagels). Roll each piece of dough into a sausage shape about 6 inches long. Join the ends to form a circle. Repeat with the remaining dough, and let the bagels rest for 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 475 degrees F (245 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange small plates with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and onion flakes next to the baking sheet. Bring 4 quarts water to a boil in a large pot. Add honey, if desired (see Editor's Note). Boil the bagels, three at a time, until they rise to the surface of the pot, about 1 minute per side. Remove the bagels with a slotted spoon and place them on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Dip the tops of the wet bagels into the toppings and arrange them, seeds up, on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with coarse salt, if desired. Bake in the preheated oven until the bagels begin to brown, 15 to 20 minutes.   Adding honey or barley malt syrup to the boiling water bath gives the bagels a pleasing chewy texture with a hint of sweetness. At the YTT expo located in Lakewood, New Jersey. Many apparel vendors were there showing their new merchandise. It was really amazing to see so many businesses flourishing. I saw something else that deserves a lot of our attention. Cheap imports. Some clothing retailers began importing items such as from Asia. Aside from being politically incorrect, the merchandise is far inferior. Some stores have purchased this merchandise looking to gain a larger margin of profit (at your expense) others are offering it at steeply discounted prices. To all our new and devoted customers- I would like to go over and  explain some of our products in the section called "hats and head coverings"   We will be understanding what the differences is -between the Tichel kerchief and Oversized pretieds. These two categories can be found in the shop by department - hats and head coverings  Tichel - Kerchief   What is a Tichel? Sometimes called a Kerchief as well.    A Tichel is a square scarf that  we  fold and make into a head scaf. I would say that your Bubby -most likely wore this style head covering in Europe, in the Shtetl. All married Jewish ladies covered their hair out of modesty and a sign that she is married. Fabric and texture have come a long way  in the Tichel world. We no longer tie the kerchief under our chin in the front. The Tichel is pretied with our soft elastic in the back. We offer sizes on the elastic so there is no need to tie. Another novelty is the Strip grip that is built into the front inner side to help keep your head wear from sliding around   Oversized pretieds   Now lets talk about the Oversized pretieds. This section  is different because its not a square scarf that we work with. We buy fabric on a roll and we cut the fabric into  headwear. The end results is pretty similar to the Tichel kerchief.  This too has a built in elastic for a pretied look. Some woman like the fabric feel and texture  better then a Tichel or vis versa. The strip grip  in also built into the Oversized pretieds     Both itmes - Tichel kerchief and the oversized pretied have options to build in a strip grip -This edge inner keeps your headwear from slipping and sliding.   What is a Strip Grip? A strip grip is a 3/4”-1"  piece of velvet that is sewn into the band of head covering of your choice. It is designed to eliminate the slipping and sliding that usually occurs. That’s why we call it the SLIP GRIP! It is smooth, comfortable and not sweaty. WHAT THE HECK IS AN ANGLE SWEATER?!     Well who wears pullover sweaters?  It seems to me that the feminine world of fashion wears sweaters without zippers, buttons or snaps. I find that when I'm getting dressed up, to go out - I apply my make-up first, while wearing a pretied bandanna.  Then when I'm all dolled up and ready to leave, I can easily put on my ANGLE SWEATER.  The angle seater goes over my pretied bandana or any head covering (Sombrero excluded!). I can pop on my funky hat or wig (with a slip not - wig grip underneath of course) as a head covering and I am good to go.   Below is an Angle sweater that has a bit of a cowl neck for easy on and off. This knit sweater is sometimes called a PONCHO. It is warm, cozy and dressy too. I love how the sweater just drapes beautifully on a dramatic angle with a point worn in the front.  My favorite is the most practical color- LOL yes, BLACK. The most forgiving color in a girls closet.
